Here is our Friday rumor round up for the BlackBerry Bold 9800 Slider. Our source has provided us with a list of the major components of the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and BlackBerry Slider 9800 and has compared them side by side, nothing huge between the two but as you notice the camera receives a bump to 5 mega pixels and the application memory goes up to 512. Hopefully they announce this new Bold soon, I really want it and if you have not seen the photos yet grab the link here.

Hope OS6 does a much better job at handling the processor. I love my 9700, but web rendering is one area that still drives me nuts (bolt is much better for some reason, but still no where near what I get when tethering! – same data, righ?!?).

Can’t wait to actually see this device.

Slider looking better and better. More is better, but I’ll take the 512mb of RAM. I wonder what the storage means? Is 4 gigs the size of the media card included? If so, that’s paltry as most new devices seem to be at the 16 gig media card level already. Not a big deal because for a few years now, Blackberries have handled much larger capacity media cards than was recommended by RIM. I wish they’d come out with a more powerful CPU though. .

512 RAM is nice and all, but after a few generations they really need to bump up the processor. They’ve been using the same 624MHz CPU in the 9700, and even the 9000. Maybe even other newer BlackBerrys, (storm, tour, bold) but I’m not certain. Some of their competition is already using 1GHz processors, and soon will be using even faster processors than that. Come on, RIM, step up the game. If this phone doesn’t perform well enough I might have to hold out for a decent android phone on at&t. I’ve been getting curious.
