The latest BlackBerry accessory that TheBerryFix is reviewing comes to us courtesy of Dicota. The case we’re checking out is the Dicota Flexi Case for the BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930. The Flexi Case looks like a standard shell case at first glance, but touching it reveals some secrets. The Flexi case is constructed of impact-resistant, TPU plastic. This material is soft like silicone but it’s also rigid, like some of the harder plastic shells. The combination of hard and soft feelings gives the Bold an extra-sturdy feel when the Flexi case is on it. This combination also allows the case to keep its shape and hold tight on your device, while still feeling soft to the touch. The patterned surface on the back of the case provides friction when you’re holding the device, so you’re Bold will be more secure when using.
The Flexi Case also offers great usability of the phone’s features while it’s on the device. The USB port, Headphone jack, Flash, Camera, and Speaker all have cutouts. There is ample room around these ports for use with accessories. The convenience key, volume buttons, and lock button are all covered by the case. The convenience key and volume buttons feature raised plastic covers, making it easy to use them with the case on. The lock button is covered by a recessed plastic cover. This cover maintains the ease-of-use of the naked lock button while providing extra protection against accidental pocket unlocks.
Overall, the Flexi Case from Dicota is a great choice for those looking for the convenience of a soft shell combined with the protection of a hard shell. It hugs the device nicely but still offers easy access to all the buttons and ports on the device.
