The BlackBerry PlayBook has hit the FCC and has gotten official certification. This is the last step that the device must take before hitting store shelves. The FCC filing shows the BlackBerry PlayBook WiFi only version in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB. Looking deeper into the FCC documents we found that RIM has entered the majority of the PlayBook certification data under a Confidentiality Request until 3/31/2011. This lines up well with RIM’s original release date estimate of Q1 2011. Now that the PlayBook is officially FCC certified we will hopefully see RIM publishing the official release dates.
