Verizon has begun pushing out an OS update for BlackBerry Z10 users on their network. This looks like one of BlackBerry’s new incremental feature updates, as the version number on the update is 10.0.9.422, but users who download the update will experience some enhancements. The new features include:
- Improved Battery Life: Over 60 battery-saving improvements have been made to keep you moving.
- Photo Enhancements: The camera has been optimized for better photos in low-light situations.
- And More: You’ll also enjoy fixes to Gmail® calendar, improved performance for 3rd party applications, and better browser video playback.
If the update isn’t showing yet on your Verizon Z10, keep checking back as these things can take a few hours to propagate to every device. Be sure to let us know if you find anything else in the update.

Verizon Wireless has released the BlackBerry Z10 today. This makes them the last and final US carrier to release BlackBerry 10. Verizon is selling both the black and white models of the Z10, making them the only US carrier offering both color choices. You can grab the Z10 from your local Verizon store, online at VerizonWireless.com, Best Buy retail locations, or BestBuy.com. It’ll run you $199.99 with a 2-year contract or $599 with no contract. BlackBerry fans in the USA, now is your time to rise up. Our platform is in desperate need of a US revitalization. People in this country are wrapped up in their iPhones and Androids, all the while remembering the pain of BlackBerry OS 5, 6, & 7. Now, a revolution has arrived on US shores in the form of the BlackBerry Z10. It launched this morning at 12:01 AM EST, with AT&T being the first carrier on board. Verizon and T-Mobile will be debuting the Z10 in the coming week.
This is the time for us to stand up and let people know that BlackBerry is alive and well with BlackBerry 10, and that the spinning wheel and laggy experience died with BlackBerry OS 7! We’ve got to get out and show off the entirely new experience of BlackBerry 10 on the Z10. As BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins put it, “Go out and sell like Hell!” If we want BlackBerry to survive, it starts here and now for us. Go grab your new Z10 this week and sell the platform back to those that gave it up!

BlackBerry is hosting a huge contest in conjunction with their most famous new employee, Alicia Keys. They have teamed up with Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile to give BlackBerry fans a chance to win their own BlackBerry Z10 and an Alicia Keys VIP Experience.
Keys is set to embark on her Set the World on Fire Tour this week, and four lucky grand prize winners per carrier will be flown to London to see her perform and meet her in person. They will also get hooked up with BlackBerry Z10 smartphones, which Keys has been using to engage with fans through her Keep Moving Project. The sweepstakes also includes a first place prize consisting of a brand new BlackBerry Z10 smartphone.
Follow on past the break for all the details and how to enter.

BlackBerry 10 and the Z10 is set to hit the United States sometime in March. It’s been officially announced by a few of the US carriers and the Z10 has passed through the FCC with internals for two different carriers. Now we are getting the first full-on photo shoot of the Verizon Z10. The Z10 looks great, except for the glaring Verizon logo on the front of the device. We’re not sure why BlackBerry allowed Verizon to double-brand the Z10 on the front and back, but it happened. Regardless of this branding, we’re sure BlackBerry fans in the US will still be eager to get their hands on this one. Check out the rest of the images past the break.

It’s no surprise that the BlackBerry Z10 is set to launch on Verizon sometime in March. That being said, the device must first gain FCC approval before it can be fully tested and sold to consumers. The Verizon version of the Z10 has officially gained that approval and can be put up for sale whenever BlackBerry and Verizon are ready. We’re looking at a launch sometime in late March, possibly earlier if things get pushed up.

BlackBerry Z10 Coming to Verizon in Black and White
10:47 am on Jan 18, 2013 | Leave a comment

We know that Verizon is going to be launching the first BlackBerry 10 phone, the Z10, sometime in the coming months. We also know that it will be launching in both a black and a white model. What we didn’t know, until now, is that Verizon would be launching the Z10 in both black and white. A page on Verizon Wireless’s website, which we assume to be unpublished at the moment, shows that Verizon is not only launching the first BlackBerry 10 device, but also that is is officially called the Z10 and will be available in both black and white. The unveiling is only 12 days away and the launch will be shortly after that, so we don’t have too much longer to wait.

Verizon Branded BlackBerry 10 Device Stars in Photo Shoot
11:22 am on Jan 9, 2013 | Leave a comment

We saw the Verizon branded BlackBerry 10 touchscreen device debut last week in a quick photo. Now, we’ve gotten an even better look at the device, thanks to a foreign source. These photos, which can be seen after the break, show off a dummy version of the first full-touchscreen, BlackBerry 10 device with Verizon branding. There’s not much more to say about this besides wait until January 30th and we’ll have all the details.

The first BlackBerry 10 full-touchscreen device is coming in February. We haven’t heard any concrete carrier information; however, from leaks we can assume that AT&T and Verizon are both going to be part of the launch. We’ve seen the AT&T model multiple times and the FCC has confirmed that one model of the device will run on AT&T’s LTE. Now we have confirmation that one is coming to Verizon. You can clearly see the Verizon branding on the Z10 on the left in the photo above. This is the Verizon model, the one in the center is an iPhone 4S, and the one on the right is the AT&T model. BlackBerry 10 is coming and Verizon customers can rest assured they will be able to get in on the action.

Verizon Confirms BlackBerry 10 Coming to Their Network at Launch
12:08 pm on Sep 6, 2012 | Leave a comment

Verizon Wireless CMO Tami Erwin has confirmed in an interview with CNET that they will be supporting BlackBerry 10. The interview was centered around Verizon’s launching of multiple Windows Phones, but BlackBerry 10 came up when they began discussing who the third major player in the smartphone game. We all know that Windows Phone is outselling BlackBerry and sitting comfortably in that 3rd spot right now, but with the launch of BlackBerry 10, that could change.
In addition to the confirmation, she went on to say that the launch is scheduled for Q1 2013 and that Verizon will be launching BlackBerry 10 alongside many other international carriers. That was all the information given; however, that’s all the confirmation BlackBerry users on Verizon need right now. This statement also makes Verizon the first and only carrier to pledge support for BlackBerry 10.
