RIM has just released the latest public iteration of Twitter for BlackBerry, version 4.0. This update helps to bring the BlackBerry version of Twitter up to par with the iOS and Android versions of the Twitter app. There are lots of new features in this update, including:

• Enhanced navigation bar – With Twitter v4.0, you will enjoy an enhanced navigation experience, keeping you connected to your friends and content that matter.
• New tabs with a familiar feel – Twitter v4.0 showcases the ‘Connect’ and ‘Discover’ tabs, which active Twitter users will recognize from Twitter’s website.
• Connect tab – Helping to keep those engaged conversations going, the ‘Connect’ tab shares who has retweeted, favorited and followed you, and gives you the option to filter ‘mentions’ and ‘replies’.
• Discover tab – Twitter v4.0 makes finding the latest news and trends easier and quicker. Discover new friends and favorite things to follow through ‘Who to follow’ or by browsing via ‘Categories’. Catch up on the latest buzz through viewing ‘Trends’.
• Me tab – Access messages and lists under the ‘Me’ tab.

RIM has just released a new version of Twitter for BlackBerry into App World. The latest release is version 3.2 and it’s nearly the same version that has been in Beta Zone testing. The Twitter for BlackBerry v3.2 upgrade brings the following new features:

• Enhanced Tweet Screen – Twitter 3.2 gives you a quick preview of a tweet link or photo through an enhanced tweet details screen, helping you decide if you want to click for more detail. Previews capture content such as headlines, quick summary snippets as well as publisher and author details. It’s a convenient and easy way to get the gist before clicking for more detail.
• Finding Friends Button – Check out if any of your BlackBerry contacts have recently joined Twitter by clicking the “Find Friends” button on the Welcome Screen or Profile Page. Twitter works with your BlackBerry address book and offers suggestions on people you should follow. Discovering friends has never been easier and faster.
• Quick Follow Button – Twitter 3.2 makes it easier and faster to follow users in one click. Skip the step of clicking on profiles to follow users. Instead, simply click the Follow button and get access to more users and content. It’s that easy.

RIM has issued another small update to Twitter for BlackBerry in the BlackBerry Beta Zone. This update brings the latest Beta version to 3.2.0.11 and fixes a few bugs that were present in the previous release. the fixed bugs include:

• Following list is not showing following state correctly. The follow button is appearing for many users even though you already follow them.
• Timeline takes up to 10 seconds to appear when switching users
• Twitter Search shows duplicate tweets
• Reply All does not reply to all, only replies to the original sender

RIM has released another update for Twitter for BlackBerry into the BlackBerry Beta Zone. The update is version 3.2.0.5, just a wee jump from the previous version of 3.2.0.3. Even though it’s just a small jump in version number, the updated Twitter for BlackBerry has lots of changes, including:

• Trends list is incorrect, and not for the proper region
• Follow button on users list do not appear in correct state
• The follow button is cut off when using a larger font size on the search page
• Misaligned lock image on user lists
• Details missing on error dialogs when clicking link for show details – exception in log
• The verified logo is cut-off on the following list screen
• Text isn’t vertically in the centre of focus on location selection drop down of trends
• Email popup field opens when you check or uncheck the show password option
• Truncated link causes it not to work/open to intended article

RIM has updated Twitter for BlackBerry in the Beta Zone. The update brings the version number to 3.0.0.19 and there’s only one change noted with the update. The change fixes a bug where the app would stick on loading when you enter the app and scroll to the bottom. If you’ve been experiencing this issue then you’ll want to download this update ASAP. If not, it’s always good to stay up to date with the latest apps.

RIM has just released a new version of Twitter for BlackBerry into the BlackBerry Beta Zone. This latest version, 3.0.0.16, comes with a list full of bug fixes and improvements. These fixes include:

• Loading spinner persists after sending a Tweet
• BBM is prompting user to update their status twice after uploading a photo
• Unable to open links from Social Feeds
• Phantom DM notification
• Prompted with “Uncaught exception: Application net_rim_bb_twitter (309) is not responding; process terminated” after app hang
• Promoted Tweet – Dismiss is still available in the menu and GCM when viewing the profile of the promoted Tweet user
• BlackBerry Bridge “Open Link On PlayBook” does not work for Twitter (but does for all other BB apps)
• Memory leak after changing options
• Uncaught exception when opening the Messages
• Need error message to indicate when an account is suspended
• Unable to see top trending lists beyond the basic ‘worldwide’ list
• The Favorite counter is not accurate after click follow and then unfollow many times quickly
• Map it doesn’t work for any location on the 9930
• Twitter not showing up in the Send menu after upgrading device OS
• “Are you sure you want to dismiss this tweet?” > T in Tweet is not capitalized
• Create New List – description text it is cut at the bottom of the edit field

RIM has posted yet another update in the BlackBerry Beta Zone. This time it’s Twitter for BlackBerry and the version is 3.0. This is a big update, and like the Facebook app this morning, brings a bunch of new features to the app. Some of these new features include:

RIM has rolled out another update today into the BlackBerry Beta Zone. This time it’s Twitter for BlackBerry. This version is numbered as 2.1.0.20 and brings the following changes to the beta:

• @Mention – No notification of @mentions from users you are not following
• @Mention – The @mention notification in the message app does not clear
• @Mention – Splat on Mentions icon is hard to clear if you happen to be on the Mentions screen when the push notification arrives
• Options – Reordering of top two option items
• Virtual Keyboard – When composing a new Tweet or reply, the virtual ‘Tweet’ and ‘reply’ buttons do not activate

RIM has just let us know that Twitter for BlackBerry v2.1 is now available for download in the BlackBerry Beta Zone. This 2.1 update brings the following two big features to the application:

• Additional Profile Functions – The ‘My Profile’ will have two new icons: Edit Profile and Switch Accounts. Now users can use the Edit Profile icon right from the Profile screen to change a picture or update personal information.
• Multi-Account Support - The new Multiple Account Support feature allows users to have up to five accounts on their Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones app. When logged into multiple accounts, the current user name will appear in the upper-left corner of the header bar and the user picture will appear in the My Profile icon. Users can switch between accounts by using the Switch Account function, accessible from My Profile or via the Menu. Users can also cross-post Tweets and Retweets from one account to another without switching the current account view.

These new features are available to all BlackBerry Beta Zone members who wish to upgrade. The multiple account feature is a big one that many users have been asking for and is finally here. RIM has just let us know that Twitter for BlackBerry version 2.0 has been released into App World. This new version brings some new and redesigned features including:

• re-designed navigation bar
• compose tweets from anywhere in the app
• Improved Twitter search
• BlackBerry 6 universal search integration

This new version of Twitter for BlackBerry is sure to make your Twitter experience even better. With much of the app being re-designed and the speed and features of the app improving, we can expect to see more users switching to the official Twitter client from some of those 3rd party apps.
