So far only Sprint has offered any BlackBerry 6 OS updates for their devices and other carriers leaving their customers wondering when they will see a update. Well today Telus twitter support decided to speak up on the matter and announce that they intend to release BlackBerry 6 to Curve 9300 owners in January, and Bold 9700 and Pearl 9100 updates will follow shortly after. I’m honestly holding my breath for this one, twitter announcements have often left us waiting and one example would be the Canadian torch launch.

It’s pretty interesting to see changes in the mobile space. Just two years ago we would never have seen a carrier announce a device launch as soon as they are now, and now they do it live. Just a few months ago carriers started tweeting that they were launching a device, not always with dates but a confirmation none the less. Today Telus has announced on their twitter account that they intend to carry the new BlackBerry Bold 9780, with no date in sight it’s had to get an idea other than soon. Keep an eye out for the new BlackBerry Bold 9780 from Telus.
