If you thought that the last BlackBerry 7 device train had come and gone then think again. CrackBerry.com has dug up some interesting information essentially confirming two new BlackBerry Curve devices. There isn’t much information regarding what the devices will feature like what speed the CPU will run at, or if they’ll be touch based devices. But this is a step.
We’re hoping that RIM makes a statement regarding these two phones in the next few days while the BlackBerry Devcon is under way in Amsterdam. Keep it locked to TheBerryFix.com as this, and more stories emerge.

I’m going to be straight up and say it. RIM has done a horrible job of highlighting the success of BlackBerry developers. The thing is it’s not like there aren’t any, BlackBerry devs on average make more money than those on Apple and Android. So when I saw Alex Kinsella from RIM (part of the Developer marketing team) tweet out that RIM has opened a new page on their website for dev success I immediately got to posting.
The new site on BlackBerry.com is there to focus on the success of developers on the BlackBerry platform, and also provide small micro interviews with the developer to see what they did to become successful. Currently RIM has about 5 stories on the site and some cool statistics on how they made the apps and where they’ve seen success. Check out the site and keep going back over the coming weeks as it should be updated on a regular basis. Also if you’re a developer for another platform, this is a must see. Maybe it’ll spark that creative gene and get you hooked on BlackBerry!

The YWCA is committed to helping develop young women into productive adults and members of society. One of the ways that YWCA accomplishes this goal is through the implementation of women’s health and safety courses. This year the YWCA is taking their courses a step further and offering applications for smartphones to help keep women safe.
The latest app is called “Safety Siren” and it aims to keep women safe at all times. The app has multiple functions. The first is that when activated, it turns your BlackBerry device into a loud siren to alert those around you that you are in need of assistance. Then the app sends an email or BBM to a designated contact letting them know where you are and what’s going on. You can get the app for free from the link below or read the full press release from the YWCA Canada past the break.

We have all heard about NFC on the new BlackBerry 7 devices, but what good is the technology right now when there are no BlackBerry services to support the technology? That’s where BlackBerry OS 7.1 and BlackBerry Tag come in. BlackBerry Tag is a new feature that allows you to share content between BlackBerry SmartPhones using NFC technology. The current list of data that can de sent using BlackBerry Tag includes:
- BBM Contact Info (BBM 6.1 and higher)
- Contact Information
- Browser URL’s
- Photos and Videos
While the list is short right now, RIM has plans to expand BlackBerry Tag throughout the BlackBerry OS as well as allowing developers to use BlackBerry Tag in their applications. With NFC being the “next big thing,” RIM is doing a great job of harnessing its power with BlackBerry OS 7.1 and BlackBerry Tag. You can check out Inside BlackBerry’s video on BlackBerry Tag above and click the link below to learn more about this new technology.

If having up to 32 gigs of music on your BlackBerry wasn’t enough, get ready top have every FM radio station on your berry. As RIM preps to do a mass release of OS 7.1 for their newest line of BlackBerry smartphones a few unknown features are making their way to the surface. Namely support for FM radio. Officially there isn’t a date set just yet for a wide spread OS 7.1 launch, but I have a gut feeling that we’ll be seeing things moving quite quickly in the coming weeks, stay-tuned.
