With the release of the PlayBook only 3 days behind us application development is in full force. Poynt for the PlayBook has been updated to version 1.0.5 bringing a few new features. Since RIM has yet to let developers use the GPS chip in the PlayBook they are relying on a wifi connection to pull down your location, but what if there is no wifi and you’re tethering your berry? Well, you don’t get location data. In this recent update Poynt has added the ability to manually enter your location when the PlayBook is unable to provide it.
Along with the location update there are a few minor updates like multi tasking support and speed improvements. What’s your favorite PlayBook application so far? Let us know so we can feature it on the blogs.
We’ve seen tones of photos of Poynt for the PlayBook but not one video. Today I’m going to take a quick look at Poynt on the BlackBerry PlayBook which, is available in App World. If you haven’t used Poynt before let me give you a little break down.
