RIM has just updated their native Podcast downloading application to v1.5.0.53. There’s no word from RIM on what changes have been made in this update, so we can assume it’s mostly bug fixes and speed improvements. Hopefully RIM has fixed the issues many were experiencing with new podcast episodes not being downloaded. Let us know if you find any changes in this update.

We know that RIM plans to have some great apps for the Blackberry PlayBook available at launch and today we get to see 2 of these awesome apps in action. Inside Blackberry has posted the above video which shows some off both apps.
First, we’ll take a look at the 7Digital Music Store. 7Digital is currently available on BlackBerry smartphones and is a great solution for purchasing music directly from your BlackBerry. The 7Digital store is easy to use on the BlackBerry smartphone and looks even better on the PlayBook. Some of the features of the 7Digital Music Store include:
- 7digital Music Store offers over 13 million songs, and tracks are available at prices starting as low as $0.79 with bitrates up to 320 kbps (DRM free).
- As Ryan mentioned, 7digital Music Store content is stored in the cloud via a digital music locker for easy portability across devices and to help against accidental loss.
- 7digital Music Store includes a recommendation engine that features content based upon recent browsing and purchase activity.
The 7Digital Store will come preloaded on the BlackBerry PlayBook. Follow me past the break for more information on the BlackBerry Podcasts app for the BlackBerry PlayBook.

TheBerryFix.com Radio Show: Episode 009 "I Can Hold My BlackBerry Any Way I Want"
4:28 pm on Jul 16, 2010 | Leave a comment

In today’s episode of the radio show we discuss a multitude of topics. A little BlackBerry 6 here, some Bold 9650 discussion there, and a little 9800 slider talk over here. In the wake of Apple’s announcements today we decided to name this podcast in honor of the iPhone and it’s reception issues. We discussed the devices coming out in the next few months and touched a little on DevCon 2010. In addition to Zach’s BBM rant on the site the other day, we went on a bit about BBM broadcast messages as well. Lots of opinions and honest discussion today. Thanks for listening in and feel free to send us feedback to podcasts (at) theberryfix.com.
