Its been oddly quiet on the BlackBerry OS leak front for the past few weeks, ya we had a few leaks last week but nothing crazy. Now this is not anything crazy but we have a brand new OS leak for the BlackBerry Bold 9700. Here is our Friday rumor round up for the BlackBerry Bold 9800 Slider. Our source has provided us with a list of the major components of the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and BlackBerry Slider 9800 and has compared them side by side, nothing huge between the two but as you notice the camera receives a bump to 5 mega pixels and the application memory goes up to 512. Hopefully they announce this new Bold soon, I really want it and if you have not seen the photos yet grab the link here.

BlackBerry users that are sporting the hottest BlackBerry in town, which of course is the Bold 9700, can now update their operating system to version 5.0.0.680 care of BlackBerry carrier Hutchinson. Now if this is not your carrier then don’t forget to remove the Vendor XML file from the OS, install the instructions can be found in our BlackBerry school article. Though don’t forget by installing a leaked OS or an operation system from another carrier that it is not supported by RIM and TheBerryFix.com holds no liability if you chose to do it. TurkCell has released OS 5.0.0.656 for their BlackBerry Bold 9700 subscribers, but if you wan’t to take the dive and install it on your 9700 just dont forget to remove the vendor file. It has been quite a while since we have seen a leak for the 9700.  Today, we have OS 5.0.0.656 leaked out for the 9700.  We don’t have any details on the changes or fixes in this build, so feel free to leave comments on your findings.

If your a blackberry bold 9700 user you can agree that the 9700 is one of the best blackberry devices yet, hardware wise and software wise but no device is perfect. So to correct a few issues with the operating system T-Mobile is about to offer up a update for their customers 9700, there are a few important updates to come;

• Increased general OS stability (less battery pulls/lag etc.)
• Improvements to the messaging experience such as, a separate icon for BES e-mail, improvements to chat view SMS interface, and an improved BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) client.
• General Visual Voicemail improvements
• Resolve 3G drop call issue
• Mobile Backup Support
• Improvements to TrackPad performance

Looks like a nice list of fixes and according to the internal memo the update is set to launch on May 11, so let’s hope that more carriers are set to launch an update.

The infamous BlackBerry bold in white that showed up on BlackBerry’s thi website last week and now we have the white BlackBerry Bold showing up on the T-Mobile Netherlands ordering system. So when are we going to see this in North America? I personally know of a few people who would wait in line for this device, so lets get the white 9700 show on the road.
