BlackBerry Storm 3 The BlackBerry Storm 3 Shows Up On The Radar

We saw three awesome new BlackBerry devices for 2011 yesterday, and today we see the device that could be the touchscreen BlackBerry we have all been waiting for. We saw a picture of this device back in September but had no info at the time. The specs on the Storm 3 position it as the fastest and most full-featured BlackBerry to ever hit the market. From the 1.2 Gz processor to the 800 x 480 pixel display, the BlackBerry Storm 3 could be the BlackBerry Storm model that we have been hoping for since the first Storm launched. The full device specifications for the Storm 3 are featured after the break along with the rumored release date.

BlackBerry Storm 3 Canceled? New Evidence Proves Otherwise

Cellbrite 9570 300x225 BlackBerry Storm 3 Canceled? New Evidence Proves Otherwise

Just last week some rumors poped up saying that the BlackBerry Storm 3 was canceled not just on Verizon but the project as a whole, Well new evidence has appeared on twitter proving otherwise. Twitter user @jtvd76 has posted an image from the CelleBrite system which is used in many cellular stores as a secure way of transferring your personal data from one device to another showing a BlackBerry Storm 9570. Now depending on if the project was canceled and how far along the device was to production this could have been loaded up and will soon to be taken of the system. We shall wait and see as the first rumor pointed to a October/November launch on Verizon which isn’t to far away.

Is The Storm Dying Down? 9570 Storm Refresh Cancelled Entirely?

9570 Is The Storm Dying Down? 9570 Storm Refresh Cancelled Entirely?

Last week it was reported that Verizon would not be getting the 9570 Storm refresh. Now it appears that the 9570 was not only cancelled on Verizon but that the entire project has been scrapped. A source has been reported to have received the following message from RIM:

“Thank you for your hard work and diligence in preparing your application to support the upcoming hardware refresh of the BlackBerry Storm2 smartphone (model number 9570, codename R027). Regrettably, RIM has decided not to pursue this device further and has ended the program.

However, rest assured that you will have the opportunity to leverage the work you’ve put in thus far in preparing for the new OS, as BlackBerry 6 will be making its way to more Verizon products in the near future, including the BlackBerry Bold 9650 and the BlackBerry Curve 9330″

That source comes from our friends over at BBLeaks. Apparently the 9570 program has been killed internally by RIM. This could possibly mark the end of the Storm series of devices. The Storm series is considered by most to be a failure from RIM. I have always loved my Storm and disagree, but general consensus is that the Storm was less of a Storm and more of a light shower. (Insert Laughter) So with the Storm 9570 pushed from the table what could we see next from RIM in the touchscreen department? We saw that photo of a touchscreen device a few weeks back, so maybe that’s what we will see. Or could we possibly see a QNX based touchscreen BlackBerry launching soon? Only time will tell and we will keep you up to date as soon as we hear more information.
