Telus customers now have the convenience of on device carrier billing, letting Telus customers bill their App World purchases directly to their cell phone bill. This could be a good thing or bad thing depending on what angle you look at it from, it’s a great for app developers as carrier billing directly results in an influx of purchases and is bad for parents of young cell phone owners.

Currently there is only two cell phone providers that are offering carrier billing, Telus and AT&T with more to come in the new year. If your on one of those carriers let us know how your App World billing experience went.

In the heated BlackBerry application battle it looks like banks are looking to get a little piece of the pie and trying to get their customers to bank on the go. The holiday season is quickly approaching us, and stress is sky high. Keeping track of  my money, lists, and budgets for all my friends is virtually impossible. Pieces of loose paper get crumpled, tossed and lost, and next thing i know I have no idea what anyone wanted. Like anyone else this results in shopping around different stores, a lot of driving and a big waste of gas. One of my favorite apps for BlackBerry..beside BerryBuzz, is Xobni. Xobni is what I like to call a smart contact list. Most people including me don’t like having thousands of contacts in my address book, I talk to a few people everyday and those I need a full contact card for. With Xobni you can have thousands of contacts on your BlackBerry without having them on you BlackBerry, sounds odd I know. What Xobni does is it looks at all your emails and finds everyone in them, all their names and phone numbers and makes a Xobni contact so you have them at the touch of a botton. If I had to pick out one feature of this app and call it my favorite I would have to pick how it puts everyone in order of importance, say I talk to Justin a lot he would be at the top of my Xobni list, but say I email my brother less then Justin he would go below. This would work on all your contacts providing you with a easy way to manager your life.

Today the team from Xobni let me know that they have updated their app to v 1.0.88.9, the update will bring some much needed changes like BlackBerry 6 support, easier to follow setup guide;

• On OS 6.x devices touching the Xobni bar or flick up works on compose, reply and forward actions
• Updated High-Definition icons
• Touch scrolling enhanced for optimized scrolling experience
• Editing is aware of virtual keyboard display and formats content shown on remaining screen
• Xobni bar not showing up in some cases now handled
• Add picture for contacts via camera

These are just a few of the many upgrades and changes to Xobni. If your looking to give the app a try you can, just download the app onto you BlackBerry from Xobni.com and let the app go to work.

Kik just sent the tweet above letting us know that SO many people are using their BlackBerry application that RIM’s PUSH servers couldn’t handle it. This is a good thing because that means the app is really taking off and people are loving it, but its kind of a bad thing when RIM’s servers can’t keep up. If you’re not on Kik yet you may want to wait a day or two till you try it but you definitely want to give it a try. Kik and RIM are working together to get the unlimited PUSH server back up and to get Kik back to 100% on BlackBerry.
