Koodo Mobile serves up the BlackBerry Bold 9790 for $250
8:16 am on Dec 1, 2011 | Leave a comment

It seems as though carriers are holding back with new BlackBerry devices these days. While the BlackBerry Bold 9790 was meant for RIMs overseas markets that hasn’t stopped a few North American carriers from scooping this one up. Looks like Koodo Mobile is launching the Bold 9790 on their TAB system, which allows people to put up to $150 of their phone price on their contract. If you decided to put the full amount on your TAB you would be looking at paying $250 on your tab. Sadly those looking to but the phone outright will be out of luck as they’ve seemed to put the kibosh on that.

RIM is a company of choice, a company of flavor, and definitely a company of Curves, so it was no surprise when they announced the all new, all touch BlackBerry Curve 9380. The biggest question is, does this mid range touch screen BlackBerry compete against the likes of Android devices, or the iPhone 3Gs? Follow me after the break as I dive into the latest BlackBerry to join the Curve family.

It’s a well known fact that a lot of the new BlackBerry 7 devices have been equipped with the latest in NFC (Near Field Communication) technology, but you might be wandering how it will be implemented on your new BlackBerry. While we were in Waterloo (the birthplace of the BlackBerry) I had a chance to sit down and get a demo of the new NFC features that will be making their way into a BB7 OS update in the near future.
RIM is looking to equipped the new devices with the ability to send videos, photos, contacts and even add a BBM buddy through NFC tech, and the best part is that they’ve also enabled the use of Bluetooth as a bridge to make the whole process a lot quicker. Take a look at the video above and see it in action for your self.

2:23 pm on Nov 8, 2011 | Leave a comment

It’s been a Bold 9790 hail storm these past few weeks with more than enough images making their way onto the web, also the love and hate for the new button style that has seemingly made their way onto this new QWERTY BlackBerry. BlackBerry Indonesia has place a holder on their site (above image) which seems to be none other than the BlackBerry Bold 9790, after all it has the same profile as the 9790 and it is on the official BlackBerry website. Heres to hoping we hear more about the new phones in the coming days.

BlackBerry Torch 9810 and Torch 9850/9860 show up early on BlackBerry.com
11:00 am on Jul 26, 2011 | Leave a comment

Today looks like a great day for BlackBerry. There are awesome app updates, carrier device leaks, and maybe even some official device announcements from RIM. But besides all that, RIM has answered an oft-asked question and accidentally announced two new devices. The BlackBerry Torch 9810 and Torch 9850/9860 are now showing up in the compatible device section for some accessories on BlackBerry.com.
This appearance also ends the debate on whether the 9850/9860 would be branded as the Torch, Storm 3, or something else entirely. It looks like, as we have said many times before, the new slate-style BlackBerry will be a member of the Torch family. With RIM’s announcement about BlackBerry 7 Fan Nights coming today, we should be seeing more official confirmation and specs on those unannounced BlackBerry devices as the day rolls on.
