While it’s no six months like Rogers customers are getting, Telus and Bell subscribers are able to receive a free BBM music trial themselves. Telus and Bell are offering up a 4 months premium subscription to their customers when they download BBM Music but it’s only for a limited time. The offer is valid until the end of February 2012.
The only downside is, if you’ve downloaded the app already you aren’t able to get in on the free months. If you haven’t downloaded the app, what are you waiting for. Hit up the link below to get a 4 month BBM Music subscription for free.

Video Review: Reckless Racing HD for the BlackBerry PlayBook

As I continue my adventure through BlackBerry App World finding some of the best looking games for the PlayBook, I’ve come across Reckless Racing HD by Pixelbite. If you’ve ever been a fan of racing games, and driving reckless in general, you’ll want to pick this one up. There are a few game modes in Reckless Racing, one is online, another is computer Vs. human, and the last is a mode that has you racing around finding different items to collect and move to another location.
If you take a minute to watch my run (sad attempt) at Reckless Racing you’ll see why I’ve picked it to review. You can pick the game up in App World for $4.99, which is a slick deal considering the hours of online fun to be had.

While today everyone maybe talking about Cut the Rope on the PlayBook I took the time to go and do a video review of one of my new favourite apps (beside Cut the Rope, it’s just awesome). BackBreaker Vengeance 2 is a game with a simple concept, dodge the other football players, pretty simple, eh. But wait, not only does the playing field change with barriers and other obstacles, you also need to make sure you stay within an ever changing infield zone.
If you’re looking for a change from flinging those birds at pigs then you’ll definitely want to take a look at BackBreaker Vengeance 2 for the BlackBerry PlayBook, it’s available in App World for $2.99.

BlackBerry Travel update rolling out via BlackBerry App World
2:30 pm on Jan 9, 2012 | Leave a comment

As CES 2012 kicks into high gear RIM keeps the updates flowing and this time it’s to their BlackBerry Travel application. Now honestly, there is nothing else in the world as helpful when traveling then this app, well other than a personal assistant….lets get real though.
BlackBerry travel keeps track of your travel itinerary, lets you know what gate you fly out of, if your plane is late, or if the airline has changed the time that you plane is scheduled to take off. The updated version brings along the BlackBerry Deals addition letting you know what deals are available in your area. I’m defiantly going to find this especially handy when I’m in an unknown location on a business or personal trip and I’m looking where to grab a bite to eat.
The updated BlackBerry Travel app virtually plans your trips for you, from airport pick up and drop off to accommodations and scheduling. You’ll be able to find deals on hotel and car rental options, or arrange for limo service to and from an airport. Plus, you can rest easy knowing that the BlackBerry Travel app will quickly notify you if your flight is delayed or cancelled, and that it can help you find a new flight right away. No matter where you do your booking, the automatic trip scanning feature can pull your trip details into the app, so you don’t have to. See all your travel updates in one place as they happen, and don’t worry about double and triple checking your itinerary; if you’ve missed anything, BlackBerry Travel will let you know!
If you don’t see the update just yet, don’t worry It’s coming. Updates can take up to 24hrs to show up on your BlackBerry. If you’re new to BlackBerry and don’t have BlackBerry travel you can grab the link below to get started. Keep it locked to TheBerryFix.com for all you CES 2012 updates.

BlackBerry PlayBook Scrapbooking app updated to version 2.0
11:42 pm on Dec 21, 2011 | Leave a comment

It’s been a little while since RIM updated their TAT scrapbook app, but BlackBerry users have yet another holiday gift waiting for them. PlayBook scrapbook app version 2.0 is now available for download, the new version brings along a few festive additions and a few new backgrounds.
New in version 2.0
- Ability to download new content directly through the application, allowing new themes to be loaded without updating the entire application.
- Download new content and connect to FaceBook via BlackBerry Bridge.
If I had to pick one new feature of this update (beside the sea monster boot screen) I’m going to have to go with the new festive content. Just in time for those embarrassing family moments, ones that shouldn’t be made into scrapbooks but are to funny not to be.
More screen shots after the break!! (more…)

Search for and Book hotels using HRS Hotel app on the BlackBerry PlayBook
1:44 pm on Nov 30, 2011 | Leave a comment

While I must admit there are a ton of games that utilize the stellar hardware found in the BlackBerry PlayBook, but what about useful apps ? I’ve found that apps are still something thats lacking on this tablet, but I did want to point out one that I’ve found to be noticeably useful while traveling. Being an online journalist (or blogger as we are known) I do a considerable about of traveling, and while there are a few apps on BlackBerry phones that help, there aren’t any that match the functionality of HRS app for the PlayBook.
HRS for the BlackBerry PlayBook is a Hotel search and booking application. Not only does it use the GPS found in the device to pin point your location it also allows you to enter in search criteria to further refine the hotels in your area. HRS can be found in BlackBerry app world by searching for “HRS”, or grab the handy link I’ve placed below this post to check it out. Let us know if you’ve found any hand apps that have made your day better.

RIM has updated another BlackBerry native application today. This time it’s BlackBerry App World that’s getting the update treatment. The update to App World does not include a change log from RIM, so we can safely assume that it contains bug fixes and speed improvements from the previous version. You can grab the latest version of App World, v3.0.2.7, from the link below.

Foursquare for BlackBerry update brings some new features
12:10 pm on Nov 23, 2011 | Leave a comment

Foursquare has just released a big update for their BlackBerry app. The update to v3.4.1 brings some new features that BlackBerry users have been waiting for. The new features included in this update are:
- Events
- Check-in details for you and your friends
- UI changes, including the friend management screen and help menu navigation.
- Added the ability to share your tips on your BBM profile
- Updated GPS technology to clear up location issues and improve battery life
- More updates and bug fixes
These additions help to put the BlackBerry app on more even ground, but we’re still behind on some of the features that other platforms have. I’m thinking that once BBX hits, we won’t be left behind any longer when it comes to app development. If you’re a Foursquare user, and you want to get the latest features on your Berry, hit the link below.
