RIM is running a promotion with Best Buy on the BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930. From now until June 9th, you can grab a brand new Bold 9900 or 9930 on either AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint for just $99. That’s right, for just $99 and a 2-year contract, you can get a brand new Bold. They are also running a promotion on the Torch 9810, allowing you to get this BlackBerry for free on AT&T with a 2-year contract. There’s no word on whether these are online-only or if these deals will carry over into the stores, as well. If you’re looking for a new BlackBerry, there’s no better time than now to get one.

I was just tipped off by one of our readers, @RaySivley, about Verizon’s Online Workshops and Tutorials. They have some pretty good ones up there about BlackBerry 7, the Bold 9930, and the Torch 9850. The tutorials are 60-minute workshops that you can complete anytime you want and it looks like the only requirement is that you’re a Verizon Wireless customer. If you want to learn more about your BlackBerry, these workshops are a good place to start, along with our helpful BlackBerry School Lesson section. They even have a getting started tutorial for those that speak Spanish. Let us know if you check any of these out and what you think.

RIM has launched a new lineup of BlackBerry “Be Bold” commercials featuring the BlackBerry Bold 9900. These new commercials show everyday people using their BlackBerry Bolds for their everyday tasks and jobs. Along with RIMs new tagline for 2012, “Be Bold,” the commercials introduce two new lines: “I’m about action, not distraction” and “We need tools, not toys.” Take a look at the commercial above and those past the break and let us know what you think. I, for one, hear RIM saying “Be Bold” but airing the same commercials and same marketing as always. Hopefully the new CEO has some new marketing tricks up his sleeve that we will be seeing soon.

RIM confirms reports of Bold 9900s spontaneously dying, working on a remedy
11:56 am on Nov 21, 2011 | Leave a comment

Over the weekend, a mass of reports began flowing in that BlackBerry Bold 9900′s and 9930′s were dying while they were being charged. Users report that they plug the device in at night and when they wake up, the Bold won’t turn on. In an official statement this weekend RIM said that “a limited number of customers are experiencing this issue and that the company is actively working on a software update to resolve the issue.”
There’s no way to tell how many users are having this issue and there’s also no way to fix it at current. We’re hoping RIM can find the cause and release a software fix very soon. If you’re one of the many that are experiencing an issue with your Bold 9900 or 9930 not powering on, be sure to let us know about your issue in the comments.

iSkin launches the aura case for BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930
11:04 am on Nov 8, 2011 | Leave a comment

I’m not going to lie, finding a case that fits your phone exactly how you like is almost as hard as finding a needle in the Atlantic Ocean. On my last browse on the net, I was able to find a new case from iSkin that not only looks sleek and sexy, it also offers a lot of protection. The case offers a high level of protection while only adding mere millimeters to the size of your BlackBerry. The iSkin Aura is available in white and black for $39.99, an average price for what seems to be an above average case.
