OS 5.0.0.921 Leaked For The BlackBerry Pearl 3G (9100/9105)
5:44 pm on Oct 13, 2010 | Leave a comment

While BlackBerry 6 is out and in testing we still aren’t seeing too many leaks of it yet. The majority of leaks we are seeing are the OS 5 builds, like this one for the Pearl 3G. Today’s leak is OS 5.o.0.921 for the Pearl 3G. This works on both the 9100 and 9105 models of the Pearl 3G. Its always good to see OS leaks because that means that RIM is constantly hard at work on delivering us a better user experience and the carriers are hard at work testing new OS builds for us to enjoy. If you have a Pearl 3G then check out this leak and let us know what you think of it over in the forums.

FCC Passes Both The 20- and 14- Key Pearl 9100 With AWS bands, Heading to T-Mobile and Wind?
7:46 pm on May 25, 2010 | Leave a comment

The grand master of pretty much the last stop for a device before it goes public is of course the FCC and they have just approved the BlackBerry Pearl 9100 with AWS bands. Just over a month ago the FCC approved the WCDMA 850 / 1900 pearls but now they have granted the 9100 sporting AWS the okay into the consumers hands, T-mobile has kept quite quiet about carrying the new Pearl 3G but this gets us a little closer to a confirmation. The AWS bands in North America are used on T-mobile and Canadian carrier Wind Mobile so it shouldn’t be long before the hot new pearl makes its way into the hands of those carriers customers.

That’s only like, aaaaad, 12 sleeps away? Bell will sell the 9100 for a staggering $129.95 on a three year contract according to our tipster, sounds expensive in comparison to Rogers and Telus.
