Google alerts have spilled the beans and it looks like sprint Market Director Gerald Evans has slipped up a little and has posted that Sprint will carry the BlackBerry PlayBook via his personal “weekly wireless updates” wordpress blog. Sprint will carry the 16 gb wifi model via their direct shipment channels including Sprint Stores, Business Sales, www.sprint.com and phone sales (1-800-SPRINT1) for $499.99 (plus tax) on June 5th.

The much anticipated BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet with Wi-Fi® connectivity and 16 GB of storage will go on sale in all Sprint direct ship sales channels, including Sprint Stores, Business Sales, www.sprint.com and Telesales (1-800-SPRINT1) on Sunday, June 5, for $499.99 (plus tax).

In the blog post Gerald Evans goes on to talk about BlackBerry Bridge and how it will be available through Sprint and that they are getting ready for the 4G PlayBook later this year. This isn’t huge news but it does put down the rumours that Sprint was passing on the current PlayBook and waiting for the 4G version before they would offer it in their channels.
