Slowly RIM is starting to bring their native applications to the PlayBook, first it started with FaceBook and now they have introduced their News application. Currently only available in Canada and the US with world-wide rollout expected later this year the news feed app lets you customize the app and follow sources close to you, like TheBerryFix.com!
Of course the app is fully utilizing many of the unique gestures found on the PlayBook like:
- Touching the “News Library” button feeds to easily find and add new feeds
- Using the BlackBerry PlayBook bezel drop-down gesture from the “My News” home screen pulls up the options menu to update content, or edit and delete any subscriptions
- Selecting a subscription provides an abbreviated summary view of articles within that news feed, allowing for quick scanning of content
- Swiping left on the tablet screen turns the page
The application is available in BlackBerry App World on the PlayBook today and it free for all PlayBook owners, couldn’t get better. Grab the link to app world below and make sure you add us to your news feed.
