Today, RIM has added another technological node to their ever-evolving network of development companies. Paratek announced today that they have been acquired by Research in Motion and plan to work with them to integrate tunable radio frequency (RF) technology into future BlackBerry products. This is just the latest aquisition in RIM’s long line. They purchased QNX and we got the new BlackBerry OS from it. They purchased TAT and we’re in the process of getting Cascades from that. Now, with the acquisition of Paratek, we should see some new advances in the RF portion of RIM’s products. Check out RIM’s welcome announcement at the link below and read Paratek’s acquisition announcement past the break.
