The BlackBerry Q10 has officially launched, and with it comes the launch of a major app for BlackBerry 10, Skype. BlackBerry has worked hard and spent a lot of cash to bring Skype to the platform, and it’s finally here. Here is some information on the new Skype app for BlackBerry 10:

  • Free face to face video and voice calls
  • Instant messages
  • low cost voice calls and text messages to landlines and mobiles over WiFi® or wireless network connections.

While we’re talking about OS 10.1, here’s a list of some of the big, new features coming with this exciting, new OS:

The BlackBerry 10.1 OS update includes support for the physical keyboard and display on the BlackBerry Q10. There are also enhancements for the Hub, Camera, Phone, Calendar and Notifications, as well as support for additional IT policies and controls for customers connected to BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10.

The Q10 is available now at select retailers, with a full Canadian launch coming on May 1st. If you already have a Q10, grab Skype from the link below.

BlackBerry Q10 Priced at $249 On All American Carriers

posted by Justin Lisenby at on Apr 24, 2013 | Leave a comment

Screen Shot 2013 01 30 at 9.30.35 AM 550x305 BlackBerry Q10 Priced at $249 On All American Carriers

The BlackBerry Q10 is set to debut in the US in to coming weeks and BlackBerry hasn’t officially released any information on that launch. However, Bloomberg has gotten the inside information detailing the pricing structure for the Q10 in the US. The MSRP for the 2-year contract will be $249 in the US for all carriers.

This is a $50 difference from the Z10, which is featured at $199. This could be due to a number of reasons. One could be that the cost of the Q10 is higher, hence a higher contract price. It could also be that carriers expect higher demand on the Q10, since it’s the traditional BlackBerry model that most users favor. Regardless of the price, we know many US users are itching to get their hands on the Q10 and it’ll be available soon.

BlackBerry 10 R-Series Shows Up On Film

BlackBerry 10 RSeries Curve BlackBerry 10 R Series Shows Up On Film

Now that we have the two high-end BlackBerry 10 devices, the Z10 and Q10, it’s time to start looking at the lower-tier devices. We know that they are in development and hopefully launching later this year. Today we get a look at the BlackBerry 10 R-Series. This device will basically be the Curve model for BlackBerry 10. It’ll be an awesome device for those that want the BlackBerry 10 experience but don’t want the $200 price tag that goes along with it now. It’ll also be big news for India and emerging markets, where BlackBerry really seems to be shining right now.

With the R-Series, we can expect a lower screen resolution, a mid-level processor, and reduced RAM from what we see in the Z10 and Q10. It’ll still have decent specs, but nothing like what’s available in the top-of-the-line models. It’ll probably be closer to the $50 range and will make BlackBerry 10 available to anyone who wants to give it a go.
