BlackBerry Traffic is an app from RIM that hasn’t been out too long but is already proving to be a valuable application for many. The app uses your BlackBerry GPS and 3G data connection to help you find the best route to where you’re headed. The app gives you routes and directions much like your traditional GPS, but BlackBerry Traffic takes it a step further giving you traffic views and step-by-step ETA’s for your trip. Version 2.0 has received a complete overhaul and is better than ever. The new features in version 2 include:
- Select between two routes to a destination, and can use a new traffic view that displays predicted traffic conditions for each route.
- Pre-set destinations, such as work or home, or get an ETA to destinations from within their BlackBerry® Contacts, enter an address manually, or find new places using the search feature
- Quickly share ETAs with contacts via SMS, email, or PIN message
BlackBerry Traffic brings you valuable route and traffic information direct to your BlackBerry and is available in App World completely free of charge! While there are many paid GPS options out there, BlackBerry Traffic offers a unique feature set and we recommend you try it out before you spend unneeded cash on a paid option. You can check out BlackBerry Traffic from the link below and be sure to let us know what you think of the changes.

With a cruise planned in less than a month, and starting a new job at work, I wanted to take a look at some applications that could, and would, help me get a little more organized. I still have tonnes of stuff to do, and my life is a little chaotic, but with help from these applications, things will get a little easier to handle.
I am bringing an awesome flight tracker application, that’s simple and quick to use for flight information. Also, there is an amazing Calendar application that will place a calendar right on your home page… no more researching. I found an easy way to get my phone to stop changing from landscape to portrait all the time – which trust me is a HUGE issue with me. Lastly a pretty cool application that will help you read in the dark without inferring with anyone else.
Check these out, after the cut!

We saw the BlackBerry “Touch” leak today in a photoshoot and now it’s Operating System, BlackBerry OS 6.1, has leaked as well. The leaked OS is 6.1.0.44 and is compatiable with the Bold Touch 9930 and Torch 2 9850. If you happen to have one of these devices lying around you can load this leaked OS onto it. If you don’t have one of these leaked devices lying around but you do have a BlackBerry 6 device, then the following information may benefit you. Updates to six popular BlackBerry apps have been extracted from this OS and will work with BlackBerry 6 devices. To get the apps to work on your BlackBerry 6 device you will need to install THIS FILE onto your BlackBerry first. The leaked apps include:
- BlackBerry App World v2.1.3.2
- BlackBerry Radio v1.0.0.34
- BlackBerry Podcasts v1.5.0.18
- BlackBerry News v1.1.0.12
- FaceBook for BlackBerry v1.9.1.8
- Visual Voicemail v3.0.0.122
You can check out our source, BBH-Plus, for the downloads of this leaked OS and they are the host for all the leaked app downloads as well. This is certainly good news for what’s coming up this year in BlackBerry. I know I can’t wait till May when BlackBerry World comes along and these devices and apps get officially announced. One last note, keep in mind that all these files are leaked an unofficial. You are installing these at your own risk and we can’t be held responsible for any damages you may incur due to downloading.

After quite a few instances this past week, I learned that I needed some new helpful applications on my phone. I had to stop being late for work, because I so easily hit the snooze or dismiss button on my phone. I also knew that I needed to know an average time of battery life so when I was without a charger or charging port I knew approximately how long I’d be without my phone (or how to use my phone a little more wisely). Sometimes I need to know where my phone has gone, and who I left it with last. Lastly I had an important meeting, forgot to turn my phone on silent and was embarrassed by “Grenade” in the middle of my co-workers. With all these frustrations I KNEW I had to find some sort of applications to lower my embarrassment. I hope that you find these applications just as useful as I have.
Let’s get to it after the break!
