A few days back we saw Foursquare 3.0 arrive in Alpha for the BlackBerry. This new version caught BlackBerry users up with other platforms and brought full BBM integration to the app. This official version of Foursquare 3.0 brings all those features from the Alpha version, plus a few more. But there is one thing missing, BBM integration. Rumor has it that there were some issues on both RIM’s and Foursquare’s parts when the Alpha with BBM was released and that both parties are working to bring the full BBM integrated experience back to the app. Foursquare even mentioned in their blog post for the update that they are working on the BBM integration and it should be out soon. In the mean time, you can get the official Foursquare 3.0 update which features:
- An overhauled UI, from the check-in screen down to your friends list.
- Explore! Get personalized recommendations on places to go, from your past check-ins, your friends’, and the whole foursquare community. Search for what you want (like a lobster roll) or just tap an activity (like ‘drinks’ or ‘food’). And, for those of you who like deals, tap the ‘Specials’ button to find Specials nearby that are perfect for you.
- Speaking of Specials, this update allows you to grab daily deals around you from our five partners – LivingSocial, Gilt City, BuyWithMe, YP.com, and zozi. Seamless savings without leaving foursquare.
- The full leaderboard. See how you’re doing compared to your friends.
You can grab Foursquare 3.0 either from App World, which is linked below, or from the Foursquare Download Page. The App World link hasn’t been updated to v3.0 at the time of publishing so you may want to grab the update from the Download Page until RIM approves the app for App World.
