- FaceBook Chat for BlackBerry Coming Soon?
Looks like RIM is doing some preparation work before they bring FaceBook chat to the masses. Pretty much everyone who has been using, or was using the BlackBerry FaceBook app has a complaint or two, most of them are taget at the speed of the application. But many are at the fact that we don’t have FaceBook chat a feature that iPhone users have had for some time. The good thing is that RIM is always looking to improve their in-house applications and it seems like FaceBook for BlackBerry will be getting chat integration, well that is if this image has anything to do with it. BBLeaks have gotten their hands of the image of FaceBook asking to allow their chat system to talk to your BlackBerry Smartphone, so if all holds true we should see it on our devices quite soon.

san Jose, Calif. and Waterloo, Ont. – Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM), a world leader in wireless innovation, and eBay, a global leader in mobile commerce and the world’s largest online marketplace, today jointly announced that the free eBay Application for BlackBerry® smartphones is immediately available on BlackBerry App World™ in six more countries: Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom.* The application is also now officially available to North American BlackBerry smartphone users after a successful beta preview period.
”We are thrilled to be extending eBay’s mobile presence to millions of BlackBerry smartphone users around the globe,” said Steve Yankovich, vice president of platform business solutions and mobile at eBay Inc. ”When developing any mobile application, we take into account the unique features and advantages of the device to better meet our customers’ needs. For the longest time the eBay application for BlackBerry just sat in the test center section. Today the eBay app is a little wiser as it leaves test center and joins the rest of the applications in App World. If your an eBay junky then this app is going to help you get your fix on the go, not only can you check your listings but you can pay for your won items using paypal and integrate it with your BlackBerry calendar making it one of those Super Apps RIM keeps talking about. But dont just take my word for it grab the link below to download the app from BlackBerry App World.

A few weeks ago we got wind that AT&T would launch the 9800 in June, but seeing that June is almost done, we thought that the newest tip we received on the TIP line should see some light. Our tipster from AT&T says that due to the changing of the branding from Bold to Torch, that the product launch has been delayed (sounds just like the Tour gone Bold scenario) to late August. Now, as with any rumors they are just that, rumors so take them with a grain of salt until we see the device on the shelf.
Some good old celebrity BlackBerry sightings. Looks like Lauren Conrad from the hit MTV show The Hills is a addicted BlackBerry user also, just one thing though, Lauren get with the times the new “it” BlackBerry is the Bold 9650. Make sure you send in any celebrity BlackBerry sitings to editorial @ theberryfix dot com.
This past week has been full of rumors and speculation in the BlackBerry world. Lots of new possible device and BlackBerry 6 information, as well as information on App World 2.0. RIM released their Q1 earnings report and things are looking good so far and the outlook for the second half of the year looks even better.

Look what we have here, could this be the 9300 making its first début on good old YouTube….YEP it sure is. Now I know that the 9300 isn’t the most popular pre-released BlackBerry in town but it is sure making the headlines lately. The guys over at TechnoBuffalo have managed to get their hands on a pre-released…what seems to be very close to production BlackBerry Curve 9300 for T-Mobile UK, the 9300 is running OS 5.0 at the moment so not to sure if its going to be a BlackBerry 6 device (with it this close to BlackBerry 6 launch I hope it gets some 6). Take a look at the video after the brake and let us know thumbs up or thumbs down.

Studies all over the world have shown that using your cell phone while driving is quite dangerous. Even looking at your caller ID can cause you to get into an accident. The team over at iSpeech have been providing a way for your BlackBerry to read out your text messages and emails while your driving your car through the phones speaker or your Bluetooth, and now they have announced the next step to a truly hands-free BlackBerry experience. Today BlackBerry users will be able to have their called ID spoken to them through their Bluetooth or the BlackBerry speaker with the new Caller ID Reader app from iSpeech. The application is available in BlackBerry App World or from their web site www.CallerIDReader.com.
