It’s been a while since we’ve showcased themes on the site. Maybe it’s because of all the craziness that’s been happening in the realm of BlackBerry and RIM, but don’t worry we are back. Today I wanted to showcase a theme using icons from the BlackBerry PlayBook. Now putting the icons in isn’t everything this developer did, they’ve also re-skinned the whole device and giving it a slight hint of PlayBook. The team over at UMG have set the theme at $3.99 and is available in BlackBerry App World and TheBerryFix.com Super store.

Pretty much since day one there have been hundreds of ways of customizing your BlackBerry PlayBook like cases, wallpapers and skins. Today I’ve decided to take a look at GelaSkins for the PlayBook. Now if you’re not familiar with their product let me explain, GelaSkins are decals made from 3M technology (the makers of scotch tape) and printings from various artists around the world, so you know their going to help protect your device and look awesome at the same time.

I picked out one of the eboy skins and was actually quite impressed with the quality of the print, putting it on was another thing all together. While putting the GelaSkin on the back of the PlayBook was a breeze placing the one around the boa\rder was a slightly more daunting task. One thing they could do in order to make it easier would be to include a screen protector, this would make the front piece a solid square and would eliminate the issues I had during installation.

For me finding a theme I actually like is a daily task. I need something wallpaper friendly, clean and easy to use, so when I came across Effortless from Z Man Design I was a little sceptical that it was truly “effortless”…but, it definitely is.
