The carrier, Pelephone, has released an official OS update for the Pearl 3G 9100/9105. The good news is that with each official release we see we are getting closer to a BlackBerry 6 build, but the bad news is that this is not that BlackBerry 6 we have been waiting on. Give it a try and let us know what you think of it over in TheBerryFix Forums.

OS 5.0.0.921 Leaked For The BlackBerry Pearl 3G (9100/9105)
5:44 pm on Oct 13, 2010 | Leave a comment

While BlackBerry 6 is out and in testing we still aren’t seeing too many leaks of it yet. The majority of leaks we are seeing are the OS 5 builds, like this one for the Pearl 3G. Today’s leak is OS 5.o.0.921 for the Pearl 3G. This works on both the 9100 and 9105 models of the Pearl 3G. Its always good to see OS leaks because that means that RIM is constantly hard at work on delivering us a better user experience and the carriers are hard at work testing new OS builds for us to enjoy. If you have a Pearl 3G then check out this leak and let us know what you think of it over in the forums.

Rogers Bold 9700 and Curve 9300 Owners Can Take Advantage of UMA Calling
5:33 pm on Oct 8, 2010 | Leave a comment

Let me start of with saying that Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA) calling is not really that big in canada, mainly because only one carrier and one device offer the service. Starting today Rogers Wireless has announced that you can now make and receive UMA calls on your BlackBerry Bold 9700 and Curve 9300 after performing the software update that will be pushed to your device. UMA will allow you to add on a small packed to your mobile plan and will allow for things like unlimited mobile calling while on WiFi. Check out the full instructions for BIS and BES customers after the break.

Verizon Hosting An “Interactive Launch” Of BlackBerry 6 On October 14th
2:26 pm on Oct 8, 2010 | Leave a comment

It seems as if Verizon will be launching BlackBerry 6 for the Bold 9650 very soon. BGR got a leaked invitation for a Verizon launch of BlackBerry 6. The info is that the launch will be held on October 14 from 10am to 3pm. This seems to be for an internal launch of BlackBerry 6 and the word interactive leaves us guessing as to exactly what will happen on the 14th. We will have to wait until the 14th to see exactly what launches and when the actual software will be available for public consumption. The Curve 3G is not included on this flyer but its possible that it may launch around this time as well. Keep your browsers here at TheBerryFix.com as we bring you all the latest developments on BlackBerry 6.

Well guys, we still don’t have BlackBerry 6 for the Bold 9700. The leaks keep coming but they are not quite what we are looking for yet. This leak is OS 5.0.0.979 for the Bold 9700. With a build number of .979 we would like to believe this is the last OS 5.0 build we will see for the Bold 9700, but you never know. Keep waiting patiently and BlackBerry 6 will be out for the 9700 before you know it. And while you’re waiting, why not update to .979 and let us know what changes you find over in the forums.

Here comes another BlackBerry 6 leak and this one comes for the Curve 3G 9330. This build is .280 which is the same build number as we saw leaked for the Bold 9650. The numbering of OS’s seems to be becoming quite uniform which has been a problem in the past that it seems RIM is addressing with the launch of BlackBerry 6. We have heard that this OS is even more stable than the previous leak of .222 we saw. Thanks to BBLeaks for keeping all the great leaks coming, especially those of BlackBerry 6! Check this OS out and let us know what you find over in TheBerryFix.com forums.
