Rogers and RIM team up for 6 Free Months of BBM Music

BBM Music Offer 550x412 Rogers and RIM team up for 6 Free Months of BBM Music

Rogers has snuck a little treat into App World for their BlackBerry customers. The wireless carrier has teamed up with RIM to provide 6 months of BBM Music to their subscribers for free. All you have to do is download BBM Music to your BlackBerry any time between now and March 30th and Rogers will foot the bill for your first 6 months. There are; however, a few restrictions. The free 6 month offer is only available to Rogers customers and you must either be a new or trial member, if you’re already paying for BBM Music, you’re not eligible for the free 6 month trial. This looks like an attempt by both RIM and Rogers to drum up interest in BBM Music, and it wouldn’t surprise us here at TheBerryFix if other carriers jumped on with similar offers.

Harness the power of NFC on your BlackBerry with BlackBerry Tag

posted by Justin Lisenby at on Jan 12, 2012 | Leave a comment

[To View this on your BlackBerry, Click Here]

We have all heard about NFC on the new BlackBerry 7 devices, but what good is the technology right now when there are no BlackBerry services to support the technology? That’s where BlackBerry OS 7.1 and BlackBerry Tag come in. BlackBerry Tag is a new feature that allows you to share content between BlackBerry SmartPhones using NFC technology. The current list of data that can de sent using BlackBerry Tag includes:

  • BBM Contact Info (BBM 6.1 and higher)
  • Contact Information
  • Browser URL’s
  • Photos and Videos

While the list is short right now, RIM has plans to expand BlackBerry Tag throughout the BlackBerry OS as well as allowing developers to use BlackBerry Tag in their applications. With NFC being the “next big thing,” RIM is doing a great job of harnessing its power with BlackBerry OS 7.1 and BlackBerry Tag. You can check out Inside BlackBerry’s video on BlackBerry Tag above and click the link below to learn more about this new technology.

The latest update, v5.3.2, brings lots of bug fixes, speed improvements, and battery life fixes. If you’re back on Kik you can download the update at the link below.
