BlackBerry Torch 2 Pre Release Review

The guys over at engadget have given us a much more in depth video peek at a pre-release BlackBerry Torch 2 and I gotta say it’s looking pretty slick.  The form factor is almost identical to the original Torch 9800 but from the video it appears that the build is a bit more burly with a sweet gunmetal finish instead of the chrome-esque plastic finish of the current generation of BlackBerry devices, and the battery door that we previously mentioned looked a bit grotesque in the blurry pics we had is mentioned as a desirable feature.  The new liquid graphics screen and updated webkit browser both appear to be considerably faster and more responsive than what we have now as well.

As far as we know the specs are still as previously mentioned

  • 1.2 GHz processor
  • 3.17-inch TFT LCD (640 x 480) -> Should probably be 480×640 portrait and 640×480 landscape
  • 768MB of RAM
  • 8GB internal memory
  • MicroSD HC slot up to 32GB
  • 5MP rear camera with 720P HD video recording

Head over to engadget if you want to see the video for yourself HERE
