Today we have a short lesson on BlackBerry 6. Many users want to know how to enable the keyboard shortcuts when using a device with BlackBerry 6 installed. This is a fairly simple process and we will walk you through it after the break.

First, press the BlackBerry key to bring up the options. Scroll down through that menu and click on options.

At the top of this Home Screen Preferences screen you will see “Launch by Typing.” Open the menu below that and you can choose between Universal Search or Application Shortcuts.

Universal Search allows you to search your phone when you begin typing from the homescreen. Application Shortcuts allows you to launch various apps and preform various actions from the homescreen by pressing the shortcut keys. Feel free to try both options and see what works best for you.
