This BlackBerry School lesson is for all the readers out there. With the e-book format on the rise, there are tons of choices out there to get books onto your mobile device. One of the best sources for these e-books comes preloaded on your new BlackBerry PlayBook, Kobo Books. Kobo has a huge selection of titles at great prices and their book club features will even be built into BBM Social when it debuts. In today’s BlackBerry School lesson i’ll walk you through downloading a book to your PlayBook with Kobo. The lesson starts after the break.

First, you will need to open up Kobo Books. Once the app is open, you will be asked to either sign-in or create a new account.

Once signed-in you will be taken to the Kobo store homescreen. This is where you can browse books by category, see a list of the free titles available, or search for the particular book you want.

For this tutorial, i’m going to be searching for and downloading Milton’s Paradise Lost. To search for a title you just tap the search box in the top right corner and enter the name of the book or author you want to find. You can then hit “return” or tap the magnifying glass to begin your search.

The search results will next display. You can tap on the titles to see a preview of the content. The price for each book is listed to the right of the book’s information. If there is no listed price, that book is offered as a free download.

Once you have decided on the book, tap on the download button to purchase your new book and have it delivered instantly to your Kobo library on PlayBook.

To view your library and begin reading your new book, just tap “library” in the top left corner of the app. Here you can view all your books in your library and just tap one to open and begin reading. We will soon be bring you more BlackBerry School lessons and PlayBook app reviews, so keep your browser pointed to TheBerryFix.com.
