It’s no secret that the Bold 9900 is coming. RIM has promised it to us by the end of “Summer” and we have seen tons of leaks and rumored launch dates. Now we have a serious reason to get excited. The Bold 9900 has officially passed the FCC certification tests and the devices are now ready for retail sales.
Device manufacturers, like RIM and Apple, usually deliver the devices a few months ahead of launch and ask the FCC to hold the certification until a specified date. In the case of the Bold 9900, that date has arrived. We usually see the FCC certifications come out anywhere between a few days or month before a device launches, so as far as the FCC is concerned, we could be seeing the devices before the end of July. Now it’s just a waiting game for RIM or a carrier to come out and officially announce the release date.
