Today at the BlackBerry Jam Americas 2012 Keynote, RIM CEO Thorsten Heins reassured the world that BlackBerry 10 is on track for the estimated launch date. RIM had previously announced that BlackBerry 10 would be launching in Q1 of 2013 and they plan to stick to that schedule.
Internally, BlackBerry 10 development is coming along and the near-final builds of the OS are being tested and refined. RIM’s developer team will continue working on the OS and refining it until the launch in early 2013. Externally,Carriers are currently on board with BlackBerry 10 and will begin internal carrier testing next month. All of these factors combined are setting up nicely for a launch in January or February of 2013.
