Today the Fox Mobile Group has released the television streaming application, Bitbop.  The application is a full featured mobile entertainment service.  Beginning now, users can stream full episodes of their favorite television shows directly to their BlackBerry device.  The service costs $9.99 per month and allows unlimited streaming and temporary show downloading.  Later this year the Bitbop service plans to expand and offer streaming movies on demand.  The Bitbop app is available in App World and is currently compatible with all of the BlackBerry Bold series, the Tour 9630, and the Curve 8900.  You can visit the Bitbop website to view all the details on the new service and see a full list of content providers.  The app is also available now for a free trial that allows you to stream 3 full shows over 7 days.  Check out the full press release after the break.

Bitbop Mobile Entertainment Subscription Service Goes Live

U.S. Debut on BlackBerry Smartphones

Pepcom Digital Experience 2010!, New York, NY – June 24, 2010 – Fox Mobile Group today announced the official U.S. launch of Bitbop (www.bitbop.com and m.bitbop.com), the easy-to-use wireless entertainment subscription service that allows smartphone users to view their favorite full-length television shows on demand. The service delivers extremely high-quality mobile video resolution and subscribers can choose from a selection of exciting programming from numerous top-notch content partners. The company plans to offer full-length movies later this year.

The widely-anticipated Bitbop service debuted exclusively on BlackBerry® smartphones at Pepcom’s Digital Experience! New York.  Bitbop’s application is available on BlackBerry App World™ and will exclusively support BlackBerry smartphones, including the BlackBerry® Bold™ series, as well as the BlackBerry® Curve™8900 and the BlackBerry® Tour™9630 at launch.
