N will give BlackBerrys a faster and stronger Wifi connections which will come in handy with the new mobile web browser to hit in 2010. So lets cross our fingers and hope this is true.

Just received my Telus BlackBerry Storm2 9550 today and I must say I have fallen back in love with the RIM touchscreen device. The new Storm is a complete overhaul and you can tell, the Storm2 is a great improvement but I dont think it’s were it needs to be to compete in the touchscreen market, There is one issue i have with this phone (and the last storm), why does in need to go in landscape in the home screen? I really dont need to have my icons in landscape. But hey, watch the video and decide for your self.

Slowly but surely the BlackBerry App World is launching in more and more markets, with the latest being Australia and New Zealand. The App World launched about a year ago with mixed results from both the media and consumers, but fast forward about 12 months and we have a slightly more grown up App World now with thousands of apps and themes. With all the changes I can see why the countries that don’t have it yet are excited when they get App World. Take a look at the press release from RIM.
BlackBerry Press Release:
“BlackBerry App World makes it very easy for our customers to discover and download a wide variety of applications for their BlackBerry smartphone,” said Adele Beachley, Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand, Research In Motion. “BlackBerry App World provides a fantastic new resource and enhanced experience for customers and an equally exciting business opportunity for RIM’s partners.”

The past few months have been a long hard battle for the new Canadian cellular provider Wind. Wind, which is the operating name for Globalive has had a hard last few months because of a ruling by the CRTC saying that the company has to much foreign ownership. This new cellular provider was making claims that they would be competing with the big three Telus corp, BCE Bell mobility and Rogers communications, this is a bold statement but they have the coverage, rate plans and devices that could put them neck and neck. Wind will be carrying a few of RIM’s flagship devices the Bold 9700 and Curve 8900 with unlimited voice and data plans to go with them. As of today December 11, 2009 the Canadian Government has ruled against the CRTC and is allowing Wind to enter the canadian cellular market immediately, though i feel they are to late for busy holiday season.

I was looking around App World this morning seeing whats new and I stumbled across themes, the theme section is a completely new category but its going to make things easy. Prior to today to get a theme on your BlackBerry you and to go to the Mobihand store, Crackberry store or search through the forums on the web to find a theme. No longer, now just open up App world and your set. There are only about 20 themes uploaded but give it a few weeks and we should be rolling,
The feud between Verizon and AT&T has been going on for years but just recently things have started to heat up. The recent launch of “The Droid does” ads brought the conflict to the publics eye, truthfully it’s beginning to get quite humorous with all the combating ads. This isn’t really BlackBerry news but it pertains to the networks your devices run on so we felt you should be kept up to date. In the most recent television ad they have Luke Wilson uploading him self on the AT&T network and also on the Verizon network, and they are suggesting that the big red’s network is so slow it cant even compete. They must have been in a concert bunker with the AT&T micro cell next to him.
