OS 6.0.0.135 for the BlackBerry Torch 9800 Leaked!!

9800.135leak OS 6.0.0.135 for the BlackBerry Torch 9800 Leaked!!

This leaked OS isn’t much use to the majority of us BlackBerry users, but it does give us hope. Usually when  we see a leak for a device that hasn’t been released yet means it’s right around the corner. Look at the month before the launch of the 9100, we saw many OS leaks coming down the pipes for that device. BBLeaks has leaked os 6.0.0.135 for the BlackBerry 9800 and is available for download here. This will be excellent for hybrid developers out there, hopefully they can give us a little taste of BlackBerry 6 on our current devices.

**WARNING: This is not an official release for BlackBerry and therefore has not been fully tested and may contain bugs. TheBerryFix.com cannot be held responsible for any issues that may arise ether during or after installation. You are installing the leak by choice. To help the BlackBerry community please don’t forget to post your findings in the comments.

Just got my BlackBerry Bold 9650 from Sprint, and in true BerryFix fashion I filmed the unboxing. The 9650 is a nice upgrade from the Tour but not sure if it really deserved the Bold branding, I guess I’ll have to give it a run for its money and see if it will keep up with me.

Bell BlackBerry Curve 9300 Color Choices and Pricing Leaked

posted by Zach Gilbert at on Jul 30, 2010 | Leave a comment

bell9300prices Bell BlackBerry Curve 9300 Color Choices and Pricing Leaked

Ask and you shall receive. The Team over at MobileSyrup have gotten their hands on the pricing for the new BlackBerry Curve 9300 set to reales on Bell mobility and Telus in August. We don’t have pricing on the Telus handsets but they should be close if not identical to Bell’s pricing. If your looking to get the 9300 on Bell be prepared to jump on to a 36 month contract and pay $49.99, not a bad price but those three year contracts are killer when most contracts in other countries are 24 month. Anyone excited for the new Curve? or is everyone just waiting for the 9800?

RIM Registers BlackPad.com Domain Name – BlackBerry Tablet Around the Corner?

posted by Zach Gilbert at on Jul 28, 2010 | Leave a comment

Screen shot 2010 07 28 at 9.57.57 PM RIM Registers BlackPad.com Domain Name BlackBerry Tablet Around the Corner?

With all the talk of the BlackBerry 9800 we have all seem to have forgotten about the BlackBerry tablet rumored as “BlackPad”. When a company thinks of a product it isn’t uncommon for them to register a domain name for it, they do this as a way of protecting their assets, so it isn’t a 100% that the BlackBerry tablet will launch with that name. When we received word that RIM had registered BlackPad.com everyone at TheBerryFix.com had a huge grin on their faces because we now know it’s was only time until we see the finished product. What does everyone think of the name BlackPad? I’m not to sure if it fits, but then again I wasn’t a fan of the name Torch….but its grown on me.

blackberry bold 9650 os 6 bbleaks 2 BlackBerry 6 Is Coming For The BlackBerry Bold 9650 !!!

Our friends over at BBLeaks have gotten their hands on OS 6.0.0.80 for the Bold 9650.  They have it up and running so this confirms that a touchscreen is not required for BlackBerry 6.  The Bold 9650 does have 512MB memory so it still leaves the question of whether BlackBerry 6 will be supported on devices with less than 512MB.  So, Bold 9650 users, get excited. We will keep you up to date as soon as we get more details on BlackBerry 6 for any and all devices. One more screenshot is featured after the break.

Antennagate Application Tracks Signal Strength On BlackBerry

posted by Justin Lisenby at on Jul 28, 2010 | Leave a comment

antennagate app Antennagate Application Tracks Signal Strength On BlackBerry

With all the fuss over the iPhone 4′s antenna issues and Apple’s subsequent accusations that BlackBerrys attenuate the same way that the iPhone does, once could assume an app like this would surface. Hayes.Mobi has developed an app that they have appropriately named, Antennagate. The application tracks the signal strength on your BlackBerry. Not only does the app track your signal strength but it has a wealth of other features including:

  • Track antenna signal over time
  • Carrier antenna signal
  • WiFi antenna signal
  • Customizable refresh interval
  • Customizable display options
  • Screen shots
  • Use to find best reception indoors
  • Use to test “Death Grip”

The app runs $4.99 in TheBerryFix.com Superstore.  $4.99 may seem steep but for those interested in the signal strength of their BlackBerry, it is a small price to pay.  The Antennagate app runs on all BlackBerrys with OS 4.3 or higher.  Follow the link below to head on over to TheBerryFix.com Superstore and try the Antennagate app out for yourself.

07 27 10bbinvite BlackBerry and AT&T Hosting Event In NYC?!

Well I guess the cat is out of the bag now, so I’m going to post this as well. AT&T and BlackBerry have sent us (and many others) a invite to a event in New York City for next week….but with no description on what it is. Now of course we have an inkling into what this event will entail, seeing we posted a few weeks ago that the 9800 would launch mid to late August maybe its a 9800 launch. But maybe its just that AT&T will launch the 9100…. finally. Which ever it is we will be there brining you live coverage.

One of our sources has confirmed to us that Telus will be launching the new BlackBerry Curve 3G (9300) near the end of August. We have seen confirmation that the Curve 3G is launching on Bell and screenshots from other carriers that it is coming to soon.  With all the information on Canadian and UK launches, we have yet to see any solid info on a US launch date besides a T-Mobile branded unit.  We are working to get an exact launch date for Telus while all we have now is the end of August.  Keep it here at TheBerryFix.com as we update you on all the latest BlackBerry launch information.

RIM Shows Off BlackBerry 6′s New Homescreen Features

HomeScreen AllView Opened RIM Shows Off BlackBerry 6s New Homescreen Features

Today RIM posted in the official BlackBerry blog, Inside BlackBerry, an awesome article about the homescreen and its features in the upcoming BlackBerry 6 operating system.  The article, entitled “Inside BlackBerry 6: Home Screen Evolution,” walks through how the team designed the homescreen and came up with the new look and functionality.  One of the first differences is the 5 different homescreens that you can swipe between.  Frequent, Favorites, Media, All, and Downloads are all the homescreen titles and each screen will be fully customizable with the exception of the frequent tab, which will show your most frequently used apps and features.  RIM has implemented a new notification area button that will show a preview of all unread messages and calendar entries when clicked.  The universal search feature is coming to the homescreen and will allow you to search every bit of content on your phone right from the homescreen.  These are just a few of the awesome new features in RIM’s new OS.  To view the full article and see all the screenshots, click the following link.
