Most of us are stuck at a desk throughout the week, and find ourselves reaching for our Blackberry’s more often than anything else. Why? New emails, new pin messages, new sms, calls… I’m willing to do what’s needed to be more efficient, whether that means an extra few minutes to answer messages from co-workers and clients, or watch the latest greatest on youtube. Canada is slowly shaping up to be a wireless powerhouse and Telus and Bell mobility are smack dab in the middle. Both providers recently launched their insanely fast HSPA network, and to get the ball rolling Telus is offering a waived activation fee on all new 3yr BlackBerry activations at all Future Shop stores in Canada. So put on your coat and get your self a new BlackBerry!

Rogers wireless canada’s largest wireless provider has provided the masses with an OS update for the recently released BlackBerry Bold 9700. Even know the OTA option has been in the BlackBerry OS since 4.5, and the only carrier to implement it recently has been Telus Communications #2 wireless provider. Open up desktop manager so you can have your new 9700 running at peak performance.

The little peace of software that we have all come to love, or not has received and update which brings desktop manager to version 5.0.1.28. If you take a look at the change log you can see that they have added support for some of their newer devices like the Storm2 and Bold2. The mac version hasn’t been updated yet but hopefully we get it soon to fix the media sync bugs.

The connector software that helps the BES users use their google mail and calendar just as if they were native to blackberry, just got a nice update. the beta Ebay BlackBerry app has landed! I personally know a good handful of people that have been hoping that this day would soon be near and it has come, Last month at Devcon Rim announced a bunch of stuff coming to the blackberry platform and one thing that was announced was that the much anticipated Ebay app will be available at the end of november. When this was announced I was really starting to think about the masses that use Ebay on a day to day basis, Im an occasional user but with this app I may have to do a little more ebay shopping now. The big this that sets this aside from the iphone ebay app is this one has push functionality, so when you bidding on the next sweater for your dog and you get out bid you will know that second not fifteen minutes later like the other guys. The app is still in beta stages but that didn’t stop rim from putting it in app world so point you blackberry’s over to appworld to get the true Ebay experience.

For anyone who has tried to use the BlackBerry media sync in the past this will come as good news. RIM has finally  updated their media sync software, and its actually easy to use. Prior to this release BlackBerry users had two options, one drag and drop your media files onto the device or two use the roxio media sync. Now none of these options were user friendly, well BlackBerry has once again stepped up to the plate this afternoon and has given us the ability to sync our files with little to no effort . The download is supposed to be available for down load at 12 noon Eastern time so head over to BlackBerry.com to get your download.

Pretty much every carrier in the world has had the brand new 9700 from RIM except for one and the one would be AT&T. To tell you the truth I don’t know why they waited an extra week to release the device maybe stock? Maybe software?
